O K everyone. Remember Sunday at 5:00 at RaeAnns for Dad's blessing. If you can, please fast for him. It's fast Sunday. After the blessing we will have refreshments. I will bring punch and cake. If you want something else, please feel free to bring it. I think he is pretty positive about the surgery and I really feel that it is the right thing for him to do. His hip is sure bothering him right now because his doctor told him to go off the anti-inflamitory before the surgery and his arthritis is sure acting up. I think some time he will need a hip replacement. Hey that's enough about your old falling apart parents. Just know how much we love you all.

Cozumel Trip

Hey you all! Just thought I would update you on the Cozumel trip Brian and I took with Rae and Kevin. It was so great. The best way to describe it is relaxing, relaxing, relaxing.

We did play and have fun as well. I played my first game of tennis with Brian. I like it! I am not very good , but I am thinking about taking lessons this summer. Brian and I played several rounds of golf. Miniature golf that is. We will just say we tied every time. It was all for the fun.

One day we went into town and visited some ruins. It was a way hot day,
but the ruins were interesting. There are iguanas everywhere. RaeAnn calls them Mexican squirrels. We stopped at a beach bar to cool off and get some drinks (water). We rested in some hammocks and enjoyed listening to the waves. Cozumel is a town that is safe and we had fun doing some shopping. In Jamaica we didn’t feel safe walking around town.

We found a great place to snorkel just up the beach from our resort. The fish would swim right up to us. There was tons and it was so fun. After a couple of days of bad weather Rae Ann finally got to go scuba diving. Her and Kevin saw a huge sea turtle. They said it was as big as them. They also saw a nurse shark and have I mentioned fish yet. Brian and I went scuba diving. We took the resort coarse but we couldn’t go as deep as Rae Ann and Kevin. They joined us for our dive however. It was awesome.

It is good to be home with our kids, but we are struggling to get back into life. Brian and I want to take the kids in a couple of years. We are planning on selling eggs so the kids can help us save. They are really excited.

Aunt Ruthie

Aunt Ruthie came to Vernal a couple of weeks ago. She did mom's hair and we had a sleep over. We watched Enchanted, I have seen it before but Ruthie hadn't, she loved the movie. She made me this hat, I love it and wear it all the time. I want to wear it to school but mom wont let me. Thanks Aunt Ruthie for coming out for a visit. We want to invite anyone else to come out and visit, we get lonely in Vernal.

Dad is having surgery

As you all know by now, your dad was found to have those nasty little cancer cells growing in his prostate. Susan and I met with the doctor to discuss treatment options. Because the doctor thinks the cancer is contained within the prostate gland and other tests seem to confirm this, the doctor recommended surgery as the best option. Of course surgery and radiation both cause side effects that most men would not desire. It could be compared to knowing you must have your leg amputated to save your life. A person would naturally hesitate to rush into the decision. After considering the various options I have decided to have surgery and remove the "damn thing". I meet again with the doctor on April 24. The surgery will be scheduled for early May. Your thoughts and prayers will be appreciated. It would be good if the family can gather before the date of surgery and have a priesthood blessing. Susan will call and make the arrangements. Love Dad
